**1. What was the purpose of this week of investigations and video-watching?**

In other words, why did we spend 5 days of class time on this?

The point of the week was the show a variety of activities and show students what this semester is going to be like and too help students fall into the

norms of how things work in this class.

**2. Give an overview of all four activities.**

The first activity we got was a long piece of rope and we had to make a certain shape like a square or triangle with the people at our table. The second activity was with pennies and we had to stack the pennies and make them into shapes but we had to use all of the hundred pennies to make these few shapes by stacking them on eachother and finding a even number for each shape. The third activity was to see how many squares we can find in a certain shape so we were given a sheet and we had to find all of the squares by guessing. The last but not least activity we did was a piece a paper and a pare of scissors and we were only aloud to do one cut but had to cut out a triangle, so we basicly folded the paper into different shapes to do one cut.

**3. For each of the five videos, explain the message in your own words. Explain the personal significance of those messages to you (why is that message important to you?).**

The first video was about finding different way to do a math problem, like talking to your friends or asking a teacher. The second video was about you can do what ever you want if you set your mind to it, and not the believe the myth of not being born a math person. The third video was Speed is not Important, this video was about not rushing your work and taking the time you needed to do the problem. The fourth video was about believing in your self, if you believe you can do something theres a better percentage that you youll be able to actually do what your trying to accomplish. The last but not least video was about its okay to make mistakes and mistakes you make help you grow and know better next time.

**4. Provide a write-up of the activity you chose to detail. Include:**

The last activity we did with a pare of scissors and a piece of paper, we had make a triangle only using one straight cut line to make the shape. The reason I choosed this problem was that It really made me think and made me try different methods and once I found a method (folding) I had to try different folding shapes to get the correct shape. I found out that putting the triangle in the middle and folding the paper in half with the bottem folded next to it then cutting though the middle, made a semi-perfect triangle there were still some problems with it that I eventually solved. A Challenge I had was getting to perfect shape because sometimes the triangle would have really pointy ends that would end of not looking like a triangle, but with a simple different fold I was able to make it. Something Mathematical I used in this process was making sure each side of the triangle was the same size using a ruler. A reflection would be Im pretty proud of the work I did, I was pretty succesful with each activity and If I had trouble with a activity I found out a solution.
