The World Fair Exhibition Reflection.
What did you learn about your country/region of choice through this project? Explain what and how.
I learned a lot from this project about how my country was operated during this time and what was different during that time compared to nowadays. I learned a lot of monuments and famous places that are no longer around today such as the crystal palace. I also learned about England during the industrial age and what they created that helped us shape our society nowadays like the "flying machine". I also learned about our enemy and what was bad about our country during that time period. For example, France had any limitation to what they could do during the industrial era, such as lack of resources. What item did you recreate? Why did you choose this item? Are you glad you recreated this item after seeing the final products of the exhibition? We decided to recreate the Crystal palace known for being built for the first World Fair. We chose this because it was a famous monument at the time and was built specifically for the World fair so what could be better. I think the prototype and final turned out great and I am very pleased with our results. |

Describe your prototype process. was this process helpful/successful?
The prototype process helped us figure out what part of the crystal palace we wanted to create and the actual scale of the creation. It was very helpful considering it helped us get a better idea of what we were trying to create and this way we didn't need to waste many resources in order to create a prototype that we can use later for the final product. Once we created that prototype we knew we didn't want to do the entire crystal palace considering how long it took to create just one part of the crystal palace out of cardboard.

Based on what you saw at the exhibition, which other countries would you be interested in learning more about? Explain why.
I think Russia would be a great country to explore at the time, considering they were at the start of communism and the transition was starting to begin throughout the country. Another country that could be fun in my opinion would be the United States because many amazing things have been created in the United States and it would be nice to see what it was like in the past of the United States and what has shaped the United States today. Do you feel proud of your booth, product, and overall participation at the exhibition? Explain why and how. I am pretty proud of how well our group did in the exhibition, product, and my overall participation and effort I put into the project. The only thing I would have changed would be something edible at our booth to attract more people to visit our booth. Besides that, I think the poster, decoration, prototype, turned out great and I would love to do it again. How do you think exhibition went? This was a good exhibition, it was a great concept and idea, I definitely learned from it considering I didn't know much about world fairs and now I can easily describe to someone what a world fair is. The Exhibition went smoothly although our group thought that our grade was depending on the coins and tickets people gave us during the Exhibition. After trying to convince people to give us coins and tickets we found out that was not true. Every bodies booth look good and it was definitely a good exhibition. |
