Describe what has changed since your second post. (Setting, characters, plot, etc).
The book came to an end and it sad one. The father and son duo end of getting ambushed by a wife and husband and the dad gets cut in the ambush. The cut ends up getting effected causing the dad to slowly die off leaving the son on his own. Although there is a sorta happy ending, the son ends up finding a new family and stick with them at the end of the book. What similarities do you see to the world you live in today? Some people are forced to live with another family than their original like the son in this book his dad died off and he ended up having to find another family to live with. Much like real life where a kid loses his original family and ends up living with another family that adopted them. Compare a theme you see in the book to a theme you see in real life The theme was very lonely and much like someone who does not have a place to go home to and instead travels the world searching for a meaning, that sorta relates to the book considering the entire book the father and son are heading south looking for something to live for. What did you think of the book, in the end? The book was pretty depressing although the ending was very unique and was enjoyable. It was sad though when the dad died. Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why? I would definitively recommend this book considering the story, characters, setting etc was all great and its a great book. If you a fan of a descriptive dystonia book than the road is a great book for anyone to read I will comment on Mariah M. and Matthew M, Blog Post

Summary:
Nothing much has changed since the last blog post. The characters are the same although there is an increase in conflict. They actually find a large building with lots of activity going on once they find a locked door down in the basement. They decide to go back outside grab an axe to get through the basement door and hopefully scavenge for food. When they locate the basement they find a group of people killing others for food. In other words, mass cannibalism. This book reminds me of the movie lost. The movie lost is about the earth that got destroyed and taken over by other creatures, the world gets completely deformed causing them to be in a whole different world. There is a lot of similar scenarios in the movie as in this book. Such as the aspect of being lost and heading in one direction hoping for a reason to be alive. The cannibalism becoming a solution to all that is left of the human race. Similarities: This book relates with now a days in some ways that could be far fetched, though this book is based in a apocalyptic world. The government could be similar considering there is no government. Today, the government is breaking apart from corruption and different political views. Soon the government could fall apart if nobody finds a solution. In the book the government has fallen apart from complete chaos. The two main characters find themselves wandering around searching for resources to live. Well people who are considered homeless who have little to no pay sometimes find themselves wondering around in the unknown just trying to find enough food or water to survive. So far the road is about a father and his son on a journey throughout a destroyed apocalyptic world. They're current goal is to head south in order to avoid the winter and survive. Although they have met multiple other people trying to survive the winter they are the only two characters that stick to the story. The two main characters currently are Father and son, I don´t think we have gotten their name with what I have read so far, although I am only half way thought the book. The setting changes all the time (a forest, a large river, a abandoned gas station) whereas the main idea of the setting is a apocalyptic wasteland. This is the first dystopian book I have read. When people hear dystopian some people think of a large city with political corruption and ridiculous rules. This dystopian book is more unique in that sense because in this case there is no government or ridiculous rules, in fact, there are no rules and everyone is trying to survive. So far I have enjoyed everything about this book except for the fact that it is sometimes hard to see who is talking considering they don´t add in quotation marks or say this person said etc. Besides that it is a great read. Similarities The book does indeed take place on earth but there has been a cataclysm to the point where the earth is a complete wasteland. The book does not have a time period although the book was written in 2006 by the author Cormac McCarthy. I will comment on Mariah P. & Max M.
